The role
We are currently seeking an Executive Director to take us through a period of transformation for the Oxfam Confederation. Reporting to the Board of Supervisors, you will be responsible for leading the Oxfam Confederation and managing the Oxfam International Secretariat. You will maintain Oxfam’s progressive vision, increase its effectiveness, and speak out for people living in poverty and for justice. You will maintain focus on the development and delivery of the international strategy, through feminist leadership and a human rights-based approach. As the public face of Oxfam International, you will represent Oxfam at the highest levels externally, building strategic alliances, promoting Oxfam’s mission and ensuring the growth of Oxfam’s profile globally.
What we are looking for
Oxfam International wishes to encourage applications from senior leaders drawn from a variety of backgrounds. You will be a politically astute, diplomatic, strong and enabling leader who can guide the confederation in the implementation of a collective global vision. You will bring a track record of influencing combined with experience of being a leader of a large and complex organization, driving change and transformation. You will have a deep understanding of how to lead on the feminist principles in a way that addresses deep power structures, strengthens democratic organizational culture and staff engagement. In addition, you will have a demonstrable commitment to, and experience in, empowering communities in the global south. Most importantly, you must have a genuine passion for, and commitment to, the aims and values of Oxfam.
