  • Location: Location is negotiable provided an Oxfam office exists and a contract of employment can be established with the hosting affiliate. Oxfam is unable to provide relocation support for a candidate to take up this role. Candidates must already have and be able to maintain the legal right to take up paid employment in their location. Oxfam is unable to guarantee a work permit for this role.

The Role

Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for a global Safeguarding Learning and Development Manager who will provide overall coordination of Oxfam’s learning and capacity-building work in the area of safeguarding, with focus on improving awareness the Oxfam policies and procedures on Safeguarding (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Safeguarding (CS), and improving application and practice of these. The Safeguarding Learning and Development Manager will also lead implementation of the Global Safeguarding Learning and Development Strategy.

The post-holder will strategically and practically lead the development and delivery of capacity building on Safeguarding in collaboration with the Global Safeguarding Team. The post-holder will directly deliver capacity building as well as provide both practical and strategic guidance to senior management at global, regional and country level in relation to capacity building and behaviour change on safeguarding.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a passionate and experienced organizational learning and development professional with specific expertise in safeguarding (including sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adults, child protection and gender-based violence). Ideally you will have developed, coordinated, and delivered capacity building in multiple forms, across a range of contexts, including developing or fragile countries.

You will have strong interpersonal and networking skills, solid experience in the provision of both strategic, as well as practical advice and support into effective capacity building and learning, and the ability to influence, leading to effective individual behaviors change, organizational change and culture shift. You will have a proven track record in strengthening individual and organizational capacity in investigations and case management, as well as understanding of and adherence to organizational policies and procedures related to safeguarding. You will be comfortable working in complex and diverse organizations, and challenging international environments, and supporting and influencing a geographically diverse set of colleagues and teams.
