KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Project Management Support
- Manage the day to day implementation of the GRAISEA project in consultation with project partner, country project manager and, when necessary finance office/fund coordinator
- Provide technical advice on gender, women’s rights, women’s economic empowerment to project partner and ensure that activities related to the project deliver on these
- Coordinate with Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Social Accountability Advisor, project manager and GRAISEA Project Management Unit (PMU) to ensure that project deliverables are met on time and adjustment on targets and strategies are made, when necessary
- Collaborate with project partner, project manager and PMU in the preparation and finalizing of reports
- Deliver other project-related tasks as assigned by the line manager
- Collaborate with PMU, country team and project partner in preparing the operational yearly budget of the project
- Collaborate with project partner and country finance team to ensure that monthly finance reports are submitted in a timely manner
B. Communications
- Coordinates all internal communication for GRAISEA including but not limited to IEC materials, programme reports, brochures, case stories, and, leaflets
- Collates Economic Justice information from project staff and share to country team and across the confederation using Oxfam’s internal knowledge and learning platforms
- Writes/copy-edits communication materials related to Economic Justice
- Support partners in coordinating visits of GRAISEA project stakeholders including media
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Essential
- Academic background on relevant thematic areas such as international development, political science, and/or media and communications
- Experience in project management, including writing project narrative and budget reports, project activity concept notes
- Experience in working in communities, particularly on issues of land rights and agrarian reform
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, having the ability to work and relate with people from different socio-cultural backgrounds, including a wide array of stakeholders, including farmers, CSOs, government and business sectors
- Creative and innovative thinking with the willingness to lead in designing and planning activities, as well as in facilitating and/or leading meetings, and training workshops
- Ability to work individually with minimal supervision, within tight deadlines and varying cultural contexts
- Willingness to travel and to participate in online meetings/calls beyond the typical working hours
- Commitment to gender equality and women’s rights and having sound knowledge of gender issues related to land rights, agriculture, business, women’s economic empowerment and in policy advocacy
- Familiarity with Oxfam work on gender justice, women’s economic empowerment and in engaging the private sector
Desirable
- Previous experience in development agencies, NGOs and/or women’s rights organisations
- Experience in policy advocacy and influencing at the local and national levels
- Basic desktop publishing, photography and video editing
