What Skills Are We Looking For
We are looking for logistic expert with a proven experience in all technical areas of supply chain management in conflict or disaster, including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management, asset management, cash transfer programming, communications, and Supply Chain security. The incumbent should have experience working with large institutional donors and good knowledge of their rules and regulations. The desired candidate will have strong planning, organising, management, coordination and reporting skills; and good understanding of Asia region will be added advantages.
The post requires demonstrated past experience of capacity building of partners, including mentoring/coaching, and team building. The ideal candidate should have track record of analysing global trends, development and monitoring of supply and logistic performance indicators.
The Role
As the Regional Logistics Coordinator for Asia, you will be supporting Oxfam and its partner organisations at regional and country level in creating and maintaining the Supply and Logistics capacity and capabilities. The Regional Logistics Coordinator:
- will support logistic planning and capacity building of regional, country office staff, local partners and authorities;
- will contribute to fulfil Oxfam’s Humanitarian mandate in preparedness and response to emergencies through adequate set-up of systems and mechanisms for logistics and supply chain and to ensure that, where necessary, additional support can be provided from Regional and/or Global level;
- will provide business intelligence, strategic direction and recommendations at regional and country level to ensure active and effective logistic support for humanitarian responses and to ensure cost efficiency and effective;
- and will be responsible for technical support to Oxfam’s country and regional logistics systems and personnel and Oxfam partners in strengthening systems and finding innovative solutions.
You will explore and test new ways of working in middle income countries, defining and developing a new partnership framework that position Oxfam within multi-stakeholder partnerships.
