Oxfam has been working in South Sudan since 1983, devoted to empowering people against poverty. In 2015, the organisation consolidated its efforts to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and has reached over 1.2 million people across South Sudan with life-saving sustainable assistance.

Oxfam Humanitarian programme currently operates through 4 Field Bases in Jonglei, 2 Field Bases in Unity State, 1 Base in Upper Nile State and Oxfam has the capacity to respond nationwide to humanitarian emergencies.

The Development programme currently operates in Western Bahr El Ghazal and Lakes State, and through partners in the Equatorias. The current programme expansion phase is to further develop a programme in Juba, and develop a programming base in the Kapoeta’s of Eastern Equatoria State.

In addition to that, Oxfam South Sudan Programme includes Education and Gender Justice programming in both Humanitarian and Development programs.

Oxfam will work through partnerships where possible, increasing the number of women’s rights organizations partnered to 40% by 2019.

The Role

The South Sudan Funding and Systems Compliance Advisor is a dynamic opportunity that will contribute to realize Oxfam’s strategic vision in South Sudan. The South Sudan Funding and Compliance Advisor will Manage the risks to Oxfam’s programme and resources in South Sudan, by monitoring and management of restricted donor contracts and ensuring high quality management of funding and programme quality information systems for South Sudan’s programme and support and capacity build the programme teams and country office in funding systems compliance related issues.

Who we are looking for

  • We are looking for someone who has a relevant academic qualification, coupled with strong experience, preferably with NGOs, in successfully monitoring the management of donor contracts from institutional donors, such as ECHO, EU, OFDA, Sida, DFID, AusAID, UN agencies etc. The successful candidate should also have excellent numeric skills and systems and computer knowledge, including experience of working at advanced levels with databases, MS Office, Lotus Notes etc.
