Oxfam in South Sudan
Oxfam has a dedicated team of almost 450 staff working across South Sudan to rebuild jobs and livelihoods, provide humanitarian assistance and promote active citizenship. We focus on providing clean water, public health and livelihoods support, and work with partners on peace building and governance issues. In 2015, the organisation consolidated its efforts to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and in 2016 it reached over 600,000 people across South Sudan with life-saving sustainable assistance. Oxfam’s Humanitarian programme currently operates through five field bases in Jonglei, one field base in Upper Nile and two field bases in Unity State and Oxfam has the capacity to respond nationwide to humanitarian emergencies. The development team currently operates in Western Bahr El Ghazal and Lakes State, and through partners in the Equatorial.
The Role
The South Sudan Funding Advisor position is a dynamic opportunity that will contribute to realize Oxfam’s strategic vision in South Sudan. The South Sudan Funding Advisor will support the Funding Co-ordinator in co-ordinating fundraising and grant management for South Sudan’s 20M GBP + programme and support and capacity build the programme teams and country office in planning securing and managing restricted (institutional) funds. The successful post holder will also be key in contributing to the development and maintenance of good working relationships with donor organisations and lead the design, implementation, management and coordination of effective and appropriate humanitarian interventions.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has a relevant academic qualification, coupled with strong experience, preferably with NGOs, in successfully raising funds and managing donor contracts from institutional donors, such as ECHO, EU, OFDA, Sida, DFID, AusAID, UN agencies etc. The successful candidate should also have Strong technical knowledge of donor funding proposals and log-frames in thematic area and good relationship management skills, with strong ability to work and coordinate with other teams in a challenging environment.
