Our Secretariat is based in Oxford, with advocacy and campaigns offices in Washington DC, New York, Brussels, Geneva, and a liaison office with the Africa Union in Addis Ababa.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, self-motivated Human Resources Administrator to join the OI Secretariat HR team in our Cowley office, Oxford. Working under the guidance of the HR Operations Manager and in close collaboration with our HR Coordinator, you will play an essential role in our friendly team, providing a comprehensive and efficient HR administrative service to our offices alongside our other HR Administrator. We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact in the team. This role offers the opportunity to develop and gain experience of working in the not-for-profit sector during an exciting period of organizational change.

About the role
Your key responsibility will be to support the recruitment and on-boarding of staff but you will also administer benefits, collect payroll information, administer learning and development activities and provide generalist administrative support to HR projects. Our office operates in a dynamic, fast paced and ever-changing environment so you will need to have a proactive ‘can do' attitude and be confident at juggling and prioritizing multiple tasks and stakeholders.

About you
You will be a confident communicator at all levels, both written and spoken. You will take pride in your work paying close attention to detail and accuracy. You will have strong organizational skills and be able to take ownership of a query and see it through to a successful conclusion. You will have strong Excel skills for inputting, manipulating and reporting on key HR data. You will have proven experience of delivery high quality end-to-end recruitment administration. Fluency in English is essential; French or Spanish language skills would be advantageous.

Job Purpose

To provide high quality, consistent and professional administration of the Human Resource functions within Oxfam International (OI). Supports the HR team in administering HR processes and procedures, especially recruitment and the employee lifecycle, and in monitoring agreed OI policies.

Job Dimensions

  • Act as a key point of information with the HR function contributing to the provision of operational services which enable the delivery of key support activities
  • Some problem solving and use of analytical skills using experience and precedent to draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • High skill level across a range of administrative areas, no professional accreditation required
  • Communicates with senior people more widely than own department, may involve some limited external representation, liaison and some influencing
