Thailand: Regional Seafood Private Sector Influencing Lead

Oxfam’s work in Asia currently comprises 14 country programs; 5 Regional Programs; and 2 independent Southern Oxfam Affiliates (Oxfam India and Oxfam Hong Kong). All these teams work to collectively make a difference in Asia. The Oxfam International Asia Regional Platform, under the leadership of the Regional Director, is responsible for the management of country programs and strategic direction.

This post will be part of the Oxfam International Asia regional platform and be hosted by the Oxfam country office in Thailand.

The Role

Sustainability in the seafood sector in the Asian region, with an emphasis on worker rights, is a priority area for Oxfam in Asia with multiple country offices working on policy- influencing and programmatic support at multiple levels including working with the private sector, governments, multi stakeholder initiatives and CSO networks. In this context Oxfam in Asia is looking to hire a Regional Seafood Private Sector Influencing Lead to spearhead the private sector engagement in the seafood sector in Asia, with a primary focus on Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. The role will support strategizing and engagement by country offices and also work on building private sector engagement and influencing capacity within CSOs and networks in the countries.

What we're looking for

The successful applicant will have considerable experience engaging with private sector companies as part of sustainability initiatives and also possess adequate knowledge of the state of seafood sector regulations and sectoral challenges in Indonesia and Thailand. The key deliverables include strategy development, support on implementation and private sector engagement capacity building for partner organizations of Oxfam.
