The Role
We are looking for Advocacy and Research Coordinator CCI. To increase the use and effectiveness of cash policies and programming at a national and global level through evidence-based research and advocacy.
Oxfam, as a partner of the Cash Consortium for Iraq (CCI), is looking for an Advocacy and Research Coordinator who would be seconded to the CCI. The role of the Advocacy and Research Coordinator is to increase the use and effectiveness of cash and recovery policies and programming at a national and global level through evidence-based research and advocacy.
The Cash Consortium for Iraq (CCI) was established in 2015 to enhance the impact of multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA) through a harmonized approach to more effectively meet the needs of vulnerable conflict-affected households across Iraq. The CCI partners are Oxfam, Mercy Corps, Norwegian Refugee Council, International Rescue Committee, and the Danish Refugee Council. In accordance with the CCI’s strategic plan for 2017-2019, the CCI’s goal is to be a leading national and global cash actor, which supports the ability of vulnerable conflict-affected people to cope, recover from shocks and influences national and global policies regarding the use of cash-based interventions in conflict contexts.
What we are looking for
Our next Advocacy and Research Coordinator CCI will require:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (preferably a social science/research degree, or substantial experience)
• Experience working with I/NGOs / CSOs required; experience in Iraq desirable.
• Knowledge of Iraq’s political, economic and social setting.
• Knowledge of cash-based relief and recovery programming.
• Experience with consortiums or similar operational models desirable.
• Knowledge of and experience in implementing different research methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to consistently work with a diverse range of stakeholders with tact and diplomacy.
• Self-motivated with proven ability to work creatively and innovatively with limited direct supervision.
• Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to think strategically and prioritize policy and advocacy tasks.
• Flexible/willing and able to adapt priorities in order to respond to changing demands, including shifts in organizational priorities.
• Outstanding English written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to simplify complex concepts both verbally and orally in order to influence others.
• Experience in providing training and engaging in capacity building activities.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural team, as well as independently.
• Ability to influence others, excellent social skills and a team player.
• Readiness to undertake travel.
• Demonstrated commitment to gender equality.
• Familiarity with legal protection issues in the Middle East and North Africa region an advantage.
• Experience in media and advocacy in I/NGOs desirable.
