The MENA region covers 11 countries. The Regional Director is based in Jordan, though the regional platform is spread across countries in the Middle East and North Africa where Oxfam works.
Oxfam International Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Platform is looking for a Regional Head of Programs. Reporting to the OI Regional Director, you will provide strategic programmatic leadership in the MENA region in the following areas
- Strategic Vision
- Technical leadership, coordination and program quality
- Representation
- People and team management, partnership management
As such, our next Regional Head of Programs will require a range of skills and experience
- An in-depth understanding of the causes and dynamics of poverty and a familiarity with poverty-related policy issues, particularly within the MENA region
- Significant experience in development and humanitarian programmes, including demonstrable experience in more than one country in the MENA region
- Excellent influencing skills and strong experience in external representation
- The ability to address gender and women's rights issues in the design and delivery of humanitarian and development work
- Strong people management and inter-personal skills, particularly in cross-cultural contexts.
Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French and/or Arabic is desirable. The role will require frequent international travel, often at short notice to remote and challenging locations.
