Oxfam Great Britain in South Sudan is looking for suitable candidates with proven experience of emergency and development work, and an understanding of the relevant issues, along with experience of effective management in an insecure environment to manage its programmes in, Walgak, Bor and as well as a roving capacity all in Jonglei state. The candidate should be to provide support to the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator, and guidance / direction to the Programme and operation staff in field locations to deliver program in accordance with Oxfam GB procedures, OGB values, donor requirements, and South Sudan governmental stipulations. You will take lead in design, partners identification, fundraising and grants management, partnership activities, monitoring and evaluation. In addition, you will ensure that all work is carried out with a rights based approach, done with and through partners, and is sensible to gender issues. In particular, promote the full and equal participation of women in all aspects of the work and promotes those values with Oxfam partners as well as ensuring that programme plans and budgets are in place. The costs are kept within budgets, and that Managers and partners provide regular, consistently high quality reports, including Finance and HR reports on programme and projects.
To be successful in this role you will have a Post Graduate Degree in the relevant discipline /or equivalent experience, a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in the field of program management with local or international NGO is required. Demonstrated capacity to manage programs and personnel, and the ability to perform several tasks at once as well as ability demonstrate experience and will to work through partners and invest in local partners capacity building. A good understanding of development issues, rights based approach and current development debates at global level as well as evidence of strategic analysis, review and development of strategies is also essential.
