Do you have a “can do” attitude and the drive and self-confidence to shape our humanitarian programmes?

Do you enjoy problem solving and multi-tasking in the most challenging environments?

Do you have a genuine interest and commitment to making a long-term difference to those affected by crises and disasters?

If you are a talented manager, have proven humanitarian experience in a number of different emergency contexts, excellent communication skills and are able to motivate and lead a team, then we want to work with you!

The Role

As a Programme Manager, you will be typically responsible for managing a specific programme area, typically teams of up to 50 people including technical experts (such as Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH), food security and a range of support services) and manage budgets up to 5 million Euros. You will work with limited supervision and autonomously set programme level objectives. You might also be deployed at capital level to coordinate a country-wide emergency response.

What we are looking for

You will be part of a team of approximately 80 HSP members comprising various different technical functions and you will be deployed by Oxfam’s Global Humanitarian Team. You may be deployed into our biggest and most challenging emergency responses, or into chronic, less visible crises in any country in the world. You will be deployed from your home country. You must be prepared to travel at short notice to emergency response countries (deployments are normally 3-6 months, but can be longer). Fluent English is essential as well as French OR Arabic.

What we offer:

Location: Deployed to various locations worldwide. Home-based when not deployed

Contracts: Open-ended
**
Hours:** Full-time - 36 hours per week. Part time work negotiable (e.g. working 9 out of 12 months per year)

Annual Salary and Benefits:£33,150 net per annum, pro rata

Oxfam offers a wide range of benefits, including over 43 days holiday/TOIL per year, pension and medical cover, living and accommodation costs covered during deployments.

Flexible start date, ideally in March/April

This role will give you an opportunity to make a difference, to act as a key contributor to humanitarian responses across the world, to work with a group of passionate people that are specialists in their various fields along with regular training and development, with an organisation offering fair pay and a competitive benefits package. **
