We aim to overcome poverty and inequality through the most effective, appropriate and enduring solutions. Oxfam’s institutional mandate is therefore threefold; development work, emergency humanitarian relief work & policy advocacy work. Oxfam South Sudan is currently implementing humanitarian response programs and Development Programmes in different parts of the country.

In support of this we are looking for an experienced Public Health Engineering Technical Team Leader (Roving) to provide technical expertise in PHE activities.

The Role

PHE Technical Team Leader will analyse key public health issues (including intervention priorities definition) and give key recommendations on activities and action plan. On request assess new areas and support the development of donor project proposals. Production of baseline analysis of key public health issues with key appropriate recommendations to problems identified for further interventions within the framework of the humanitarian context and gaps in assistance. In coordination with the other technical teams (PHP, EFSL), ensure key data are collected on planned frequency for the MEAL. To synthesise data from diverse and various sources in format understandable by non technician and focused to demonstrate an issue or / and a need for intervention.

As a roving PHE Technical Team Leader you will support all WASH programmes teams operating in South Sudan to offer technical advice to strengthen and improve programmes in the field, to gap fill for important technical field based staff and capacity build WASH staff in the field.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will have a degree in related field with proven work experience of supporting large-scale emergency responses in a complex humanitarian environment with an international or multinational organization. You will have a well developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations. You will have good communication skills coupled with diplomacy, tact and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Contract Type: Fixed Term - 6 Months with possibility to extend
