Country: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Closing date: 09 Dec 2018
Background
Oxfam is a global movement of people who won’t live with the injustice of poverty. Together we save and rebuild lives in disasters. We help people build better lives for themselves. We speak out on the big issues that keep people poor, like inequality, discrimination against women and climate change. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can live without poverty.
Oxfam GB’s Programme Funding & Partnerships (PFP) team has a strong global track record of successfully supporting the development of high quality programme funding proposals, generating and supporting restricted donor programme income of more than £200m/year from leading institutional Donors (bilateral and multilateral), trust and foundations. We have specialist experience and capability in single country and multi-country programme funding, of traditional and emerging aid modalities and mechanisms, of commercial tendering and of complex consortia formation and partnerships development.
About the role
The candidate will be responsible for leading responses to commercially tendered bids and grants that are complex, high-value, global and/or country funded. They will be responsible for managing opportunities from start to finish, including leading on capture planning and opportunity appraisal (bid/nobid). They will support Oxfam programme staff with developing effective bid winning strategies, and will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to secure necessary inputs and support. The successful candidate will be expected to have and be able to apply a broad range of commercial bid knowledge and experience (in both grants and/or tenders) across a range of donor agency clients and funding mechanisms.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a highly motivated professional who works calmly under pressure and delivers quality work in the tight timeframes required by the bidding process. The Bid Developer will need to motivate global bidding teams to successfully pursue grant and tender opportunities. The candidate will have excellent communication and influencing skills. Based in Oxford, the successful candidate will be expected to work across Oxfam GB, to collaborate across the confederation of OI affiliates, and to work with a range of other stakeholder partnerships. Fluency and/or proficiency in French would be an advantage.
