Oxfam International is an equal opportunities employer, committed to diversity within our organization.

One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilizing the power of people against poverty.

Around the world, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes. And we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them. In all we do, Oxfam works with partner organizations and alongside vulnerable women and men to end the injustices that cause poverty.

About the Role

We have an exciting new role in our expanding OI Secretariat Confederation Development team that will be based either in the OI Secretariat in Oxford or in an Oxfam office location in the Global South.

Oxfam envisions a future where we are a more interdependent network, driven more by knowledge, organized for more simplicity internally and more globally balanced. The Secretariat takes an active role in developing new affiliates and providing strategic, technical and financial support for new or potential Oxfams (most recently in Brazil and South Africa). Given the separate histories and ways of working of the different affiliates, the Secretariat also plays an important role in harmonizing systems that will enable confederation-wide initiatives to work more effectively providing capacity building support for new affiliates

The job is interesting, often complex, and will challenge your skills, experience and competencies. The jobs will expose you to diversity and requires a facilitator, networker and broker that strive for high-levels of quality delivery.

If you have proven experience in managing change within an international organization, and have successfully delivered against organizational planning and processes, then we’d like to hear from you.

About you

You have a flair and liking for collaborative working, and the ability to work in a decentralized virtual team. Your working relationships will be across boundaries and work will be delivered in matrix team structure. You will have an ability to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through alongside the ability to accomplish complex tasks simultaneously, often under extreme pressure.

In addition to excellent planning, organizational and administrative skills, you will have strong written and verbal communication skills including fluency in written and spoken English.
