The CLV Cluster is comprised of three countries i.e. Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam

Oxfam in Cambodia which is part of the CLV cluster, we started working in Cambodia in 1979. We are working in partnership with other NGOs, private sectors, the Royal Government of Cambodia, and other development agencies to help the Cambodian people help themselves overcome poverty and suffering. Oxfam in Cambodia has 3 country programs including Voice for Change Program (V4C), Natural Resource Governance Program (NRG) and Inclusive Green Economy and Finance Program (IGEF).
The Fair Finance Asia (FFA) Program
The Fair Finance Asia (FFA) program is a five-year program funded by the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand. It aims to contribute to the reduction of the negative impact of cross-border investments on human rights, the environment and climate change, particularly those made by multinational financial institutions, banks and insurers, and to increase inclusive economic development. Currently, FFA is operational at regional level and in 7 countries across Asia, namely - Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam – wherein national FFA civil society organization (CSO) coalitions together with regional partners lead research and engagement with the program’s key stakeholders including financial regulatory and policymaking institutions, banking and investment associations, multilateral development banks and the academia. FFA’s regional program management unit is stationed in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Purpose
Fair Finance Asia (FFA) program is seeking a Communications Volunteer, who will be a part of the FFA Executive Team for a duration of 6 months with possibility for extension working part time and remotely. The Communications Volunteer will closely work the Program Officer and Knowledge and Communications Manager to provide effective and efficient communications and administrative support on FFA website, social media, campaign and outreach activities.
Responsibilities
Social Media and Campaign
- Support in compiling report data/findings and sourcing relevant information for the production of the FFA social media content across key thematic issues and sectors;
- Keep track of the communications calendar, taking into account the key and relevant regional and international events and initiatives, and support in developing social media posts and communications products based on the aforementioned report data/findings;
- Support in preparing invitations, banners, and blurbs for promotion of the capacity building events and trainings, webinars, and other events in reaching to a broader audience via email and social media posts;
- Provide support to the FFA communications team in social media campaigns
Newsletter
- Support in developing the first draft of the monthly and quarterly newsletters or wherein FFA inputs are required;
- Provide support in drafting and compiling monthly and quarterly updates done by FFA;
- Work with the design specialist to ensure a well-designed newsletter that captures the main highlights of the work done by FFA
Website
- Regularly check the resources and updates on Fair Finance Asia’s new website and provide support in drafting content and preparing creative to ensure all the contents are uploaded on the site;
- Spot check the grammar, language and formatting of the site and all of its content, to ensure consistency and adherence to FFA branding, and propose relevant enhancements, if any;
- Cross-check accessibility of website menu, content, search engine, and visuals across pages and sources and report in case of any inaccessibility
Others
- Support FFA ET on proofreading and editing content in the FFA reports and communications materials;
- Participate in meetings and take notes of key discussion points as and when required;
- Support implementation of FFA regional communication plan.
Requirements
- Completed or undertaking academic degree in Media/Communications or other related degree;
- Demonstrate the ability to create innovative and visually appealing design;
- Have fair knowledge of recent trends in graphic design such as using Canva platform;
- Experience in composing content and using of social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.);
- Experience in creating visual content such as infographic, graph, presentation, evite, etc.
- Good understanding on the branding and website functionality;
- Ability to work in multi-national, multi-cultural teams and to develop good working relationships;
- Interested in understanding development issue, particularly on sustainable finance;
- Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Previous work or internship experience in a communications role is an asset;
- Previous work or internship experience with an NGO or Civil Society Organization.
