Oxfam International is unable to guarantee the obtaining of a work permit for the role. Candidates must already have and be able to retain the legal right to work in the location where they are based. We are not able to support the relocation of a candidate to take up the position in an Oxfam location.
F**lexible working:** We believe flexible working is key to building the Secretariat of the future, so we’re open to talking through the type of working arrangements that might work for you, for example remote based employment, with travel to project countries.
The Role
Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for an experienced Protection and Hunger Policy Advisor to lead Oxfam’s global policy and advocacy work on hunger and protection in humanitarian contexts. The role will work closely with project countries (including DRC, OPT, Yemen, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger) advocating for a stronger donor and humanitarian response to food security and protection vulnerabilities, and to address the root causes of those vulnerabilities, including conflict, inequality, poverty, and the climate crisis.

Who we're looking for
- An experienced advocacy advisor to develop and implement an international advocacy strategy to move decision makers to take decisive action on conflict and hunger
- A person with a background in protection or EFSVL who is passionate about system change
- Someone to represent Oxfam in external coalitions and to coordinate working groups, as well as to engage with media and communications colleagues to amplify advocacy initiatives
- A person who works well with counterparts across multiple countries and regions to develop common approaches
- The ability to lead in the creation of advocacy materials such as briefing papers, reports, organizational statements, and policy papers
