Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

Do you have significant experience of leading the design and implementation of influencing, policy, campaigning and advocacy programmes or initiatives, in more than one country in Asia.

Do you have excellent English language, communication skills and confidence to articulate knowledge and ideas, influence, and advocate clearly and convincingly?

Can you understand the importance of building relationships, within and outside the organisation and engage with traditional and non-traditional stakeholders ?

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of the influencing agenda of Oxfam in Asia and to develop Oxfam in Asia’s partnership with the ADB (Asian Development Bank). The role is aligned to an ADB funded multi-country project, Building Resilient Urban Communities in Asia (BRUC). This project aims to influence the ADB to increase their support to community-led urban resilience approaches and to partnerships with CSOs across their portfolio, as set out in the ADB Strategy 2030. This role will support BRUC’s co-learning/influencing agenda. In addition, and alongside this, the role will leverage the BRUC partnership with the ADB to support Oxfam’s policy engagement on Oxfam in Asia’s priorities with the ADB and other relevant partners. Finally, the role with help to deepen and broaden Oxfam in Asia’s relationship with the ADB so that it sustains after the completion of BRUC (in November 2022). This will include positioning Oxfam for future fundraising and project partnership opportunities as well as helping to formalise a longer-term co-learning/influencing relationship between Oxfam and the ADB.

What we are looking for

The post provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced Institutional Engagement and Influencing Advisor who can leverage and create opportunities to influence external stakeholders. The postholder will be passionate about developing relationships that support community level leadership.

S/he will report to the OI Regional Advocacy and Campaigns Lead - Asia (based in Islamabad Pakistan) and have a matrix line to the BRUC Programme Manager (PM). S/he will need to be comfortable working in a number of connected teams
