One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilizing the power of people against poverty.

The gap between the rich and poor is spiraling out of control. Today, just 62 billionaires own the same wealth as the poorest half of the population.
Such extreme economic inequality is standing in the way of ending global poverty, and widening other inequalities like the gap between women and men.

Have you been part of public-facing campaigns that have achieved real impact for people? If so you are the person we are looking for.

This strategic role will provide thought leadership to Oxfam’s Global Campaigns’ towards promoting gender equality and advancing women’s rights through Oxfam’s public-facing campaigns. We are looking for someone who will play a key role in the Global Campaigns team and will work with Heads of Campaigns (HoCs) as well as policy and public campaign experts to put women’s rights at the heart of Oxfam’s campaign work.

You will give advice and analysis on key policy developments, particularly in relation to women’s economic inequality and gender-based violence, and help communicate complex policy issues both internally and externally to build support for our campaigning and advocacy work.

Around the world, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them.

Our Secretariat is based in Oxford, with advocacy and campaigns offices in Washington DC, New York, Brussels, Geneva, and a liaison office with the Africa Union in Addis Ababa.

The Advisor will lead on advocacy and policy projects and support the teams of the different campaigns with research and analysis across a range of areas concerning gender equality. The Advisor will give advice and analysis on key policy developments, particularly in relation to women’s economic inequality and gender-based violence, and help communicate complex policy issues both internally and externally to build support for our campaigning and advocacy work.
